“When consumers are wronged by a company, barred from holding the company accountable in court, and forced before an arbitrator chosen by the company, that is not justice. It is corporate bullying.
Arbitration is a potential tool for resolving disputes only when it is voluntary and informed, not buried and forced. When forced, consumers who check their loved one into a nursing home unknowingly sign away their right to go to court when something goes wrong. When that loved one dies from neglect or abuse, family members should have the right to seek answers and accountability in court. Forced arbitration takes away that right.”
